For example, I have always been taught "Make a creative title", but in summary writing you should write "Summary of the "Film". I also have to constantly remind myself that I should summarize, not analyze. That is something I am constantly struggling with... sometimes I just want to share my thoughts as I am writing because my opinions can be very strong when I am passionate about a certain topic.
One of the things that I have discovered after watching the documentary and summary writing is that I really enjoy documentaries. I love learning more about what I already love and am passionate about. The knowledge that I have received from watching this one documentary is amazing. It makes me sad about certain things because I feel bad for what these people are doing to the orcas, but then it creates change in me, and I love that. It makes me want to change and make a change.

ReplyDeleteI felt the same way you did about summaries! It was like everything I've ever learned about writing since grade school just got swept under the rug, not to be seen for now. It's so difficult to not give your opinion, especially on Blackfish! I watched that film too and I just wanted to talk about my opinion about the whales!
