Is Twitter good or bad?
Twitter has both positive and negative things about it.
One of the best things about Twitter is its accessibility. It is easy for anyone and everyone to get a hold of new information and to share it with others. It can also create a community between people. Someone can become "friends" with another person from the other side of the country or even across the world. It is truly amazing. Twitter is also a good way to promote yourself and get your name out there, and to promote others.
But Twitter also has some downsides. For one thing, one will never know what is true. There is no guarantee of accuracy or reliability. Also many people will get into "Twitter Fights". People will express their feelings negatively and aggressively towards a certain subject or person causing "fights" to start up. It is very easy for people to trash talk one another when he or she is sitting behind a computer screen.
In the end, I believe Twitter can be the good, the bad and the ugly. It is how you act on the Internet.

ReplyDeleteNice post. But, I think one of the most beneficial features of Twitter is you actually don’t “friend”. You follow, which gives people the opportunity to access information and opinions from the people they want and not have to share any information about themselves in return (if you use the private setting). Or, you can publish your own opinions and information to your followers without having to follow any of them back.
I also have a comment about your statement, "There is no guarantee of accuracy or reliability.”
Another benefit of Twitter is that it's pretty easy to find news articles, police statements, and information from people with high credibility on most trending issues :)
